Tim Peake strikes again!
Can’t believe that the summer has gone so quickly.
The school animations leading up to the holidays have been great fun. Tim Peake was definitely flavour of the term and I can understand why. It has been fantastic to learn so much about his activities in space while working in schools. You can see a couple of the animations that I have shared on YouTube here and here.
This coming school year I am keen to have more ‘off the peg’ style workshops available. I am going to start with an ‘Indian’ themed animation workshop topic inspired by the book ‘Elephant Dance’ by
The end of last term and this summer have been a mixture of family time and some time spent developing a new business venture linked to my husband’s beekeeping. So, if you pardon the pun, things have been ‘buzzing’ and time has definitely ‘flown’ by. The photography group has also been active during the break so, in fact, there wasn’t really a break at all (sounds like when I was a teacher! 😉 )
With a view to slowing down slightly, I will be taking less animation commissions and focussing on my work in schools which I enjoy so much. I will be changing my website to fit in with this shortly.
Looking forward to a great school year,
Mel Smith
